Dear CCCCA Friends:

I am writing to you and asking your financial support to Asian Evergreen Apartments. Asian Evergreen Apartments (located at 3843 Payne Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio, 44114) was completed in 1998. It was sponsored by the Cleveland Chinese Senior Citizens Association and funded by HUD. Currently, most of the residents are Asian elders. Since 1998, HUD had subsidized the tenant?s portion of the rent. Unfortunately, due to this year?s congressional budget problems, the tenants have not received their funding since September of 2005. HUD now owes over $120,000 in tenants rent subsidies. Since September, 2005, Asian Evergreen Board first used Asian Evergreen Housing Corporation?s Replacement Reserves to fund the operation. Then, the Retiree Housing Management, the building manager, voluntarily advanced $25,000 and deferred its management fees to keep the building operating. As the sponsor of Asian Evergreen Apartments, the Cleveland Chinese Senior Citizens Association funded $25,000 in January 2006 which is expected to keep the building open until the end of February.

In order to keep the building in operation to provide peaceful uninterrupted daily living conditions for its tenants, the Asian Evergreen Board is spearheading a fund raising campaign to save the building and to provide buffer again future congressional funding delays. Your financial support is most welcome. Please direct your tax deductible donations to: Cleveland Chinese Senior Citizens Association Asian Evergreen Fund (or CCSCA Asian Evergreen Fund EIN # is 34-1682776) and mail your check to 3843 Payne Avenue, Box B, Cleveland Ohio, 44114

If you should have any questions, please contact Mr. Jason Lin at 216-323-9887 or myself at 440-238-9130. Thank you.
